Volunteer
We’re a new gallery and we’re going to need the support of local people to help us make it a success.
We believe we have an opportunity to suit everyone – whatever your interests or experience. Whether you see yourself as front of house, being the face of The Yare Gallery to new visitors, or behind the scenes keeping everything running smoothly, there’s a role for you.
We are currently looking for general assistants to support The Yare Gallery. There are a range of opportunities and we will work with you to find tasks that meet your interests and needs, as well as the time you have available. You may have a background in heritage and art, but what we’re really looking for are warm and friendly individuals who can make gallery visitors feel welcome.
Key tasks include:
-
Welcoming gallery visitors at the entrance
-
Counting visitors in and out using a click counter system
-
Greeting visitors in the exhibition spaces, answering questions and monitoring the safety of the artwork
-
Overseeing retail sales at the entrance, including taking cashless payments
-
Attending occasional evening events, such as private views, in a supervisory capacity
Full training will be provided.

The Yare Gallery is wheelchair accessible, with step-free access and a lift providing access to the 1st and 2nd floors. To learn more about accessibility at the gallery, please click here.
